Jaipur Diaries - March 25

Jaipur the capital of Rajasthan. Known as The Pink City, it is a place to enrich your senses and a city to visit for those who love vibrant textiles, hand craft, interiors and shopping!  Most of our designs are hand printed in Jaipur so our time is mostly spent visiting our crafts people but also enjoying the city and picking up inspiration.  I’ve been travelling to Jaipur for almost 20 years so here are my tips from my last trip of places to stay, visit and shop!

As I normally travel alone I love to stay in small boutique hotels where you meet other travellers and designers.  On my last trip I had the pleasure of staying at a new hotel - The Niravi Jaipur

It’s a mini oasis in the middle of the city with beautiful rooms and delicious food with a pool if you feel like a refreshing dip!  I highly recommend it.

For sight seeing I would recommend visiting the grand Amer fort.  I’d also recommend traveling in and about Jaipur by Tuk Tuk!  It’s all about enjoying the ride & sights..

Shops you should visit whilst in the city are Anouki where you can have lunch in their cafe. Across the road is Nila visit for its calm and beauty.  The Gem palace to check out their opulent jewellery as you know Jaipur is known as the Gem city. Also well worth a visit is The Palace Atelier.

Enjoy the jaipur wild life too and hopefully you will see some elephants in the city.
